As an art lover and expert on Goya, Jean-Claude Carrière guides us through the artist’s unique body of work. In an attempt to unravel the mystery surrounding his art, Carrière embarks on one final journey to Spain, retracing the painter’s steps. Along the way, he meets various artists from the worlds of film, literature, and music, each demonstrating how influential Goya’s work continues to be.
José Luis López-Linares is a documentary filmmaker and producer. He worked as a cinematographer on films by Carlos Saura, Fernando Trueba, Jaime Chávarri, Alain Tanner, and Víctor Erice. Since 1994, he has produced and directed over forty documentaries, including Asaltar los cielos (Ondas Award 1997), Un instante en la vida ajena (Goya for Best Documentary 2004), and Extras (Goya for Best Short Documentary 2005). In 2005, he also won the Goya Award for Best Cinematography for Carlos Saura’s Iberia. In 2016, he released The Hieronymus Bosch Mystery, which was a major success in Spain and internationally.
